Membership

The Upcycle Exchange was founded with the purpose of acquiring supplies specifically for indie artists and crafters. The membership options below are tailored to benefit local individuals who have turned their creative talents into small businesses. Membership is NOT REQUIRED to shop at the {Materials Market}, it just provides perks :)

Do you use upcycled materials to make merchandise for your St. Louis area indie business? If you do, then you should be part of the Upcycle Collective! Your business will be listed in our Incentives directory, where members offer discounts on select finished merchandise to anyone who drops-off supplies. It’s the “Exchange” in Upcycle Exchange. This benefits you in two ways – it motivates supply drop-offs, ensuring our shelves are stocked with a wide variety of materials for you to choose from, and it encourages folks to shop local and handmade — namely from you!

A Maker Membership offers a seal of approval that your indie business is making an effort to be environmentally responsible too. You’ll get a special badge to use on your website and/or online shops, a printable version you can display next to your merchandise at events, and for you Etsy sellers, we’ll have some tagging initiatives going on.

If you are on Facebook, we have a ‘Secret Group’ just for Member Makers. We’ll update it with details on new inventory throughout the week, just for you! If something we mention strikes your fancy, you can have it put on hold for you. This will be the primary point of contact for you to communicate with the store in real time to make sure we have what you need.

Finally, becoming a Member Maker gives you a spot on our Action Item list, where you can add any supply you are looking for to our Wish-list and offer a bonus freebie for anyone who collects it for you. They note the item(s) with their email prior to dropping it off, then we pass it on to you to make arrangements for the bonus.

 

 

After your application is reviewed we will:

  • Add you to our Facebook Group
  • Add your discount/website to our Incentives page
  • Send you an invoice for $15 through Paypal
  • Add you as an editor to our ‘Action Item’ Google spreadsheet
  • Email you the password to our Member’s Only page on the site, which has member downloads, printables, and all valid coupon codes
